New Rules Considered for the World Taekondo
Federation Trying to re-invigorate Taekwondo sparring the WTF
has considered a slew of new changes. Some, like the introduction
of gloves to promote more punching are long overdue. Some like the
possibility of colored doboks, not so good. |
More Classes to be Offered This November In a continuing effort to serve the students we will be allowing students to attend their scheduled classes as well as any additional class times they would like to add at no additional cost. |
| Adult & Kids Mixed Classes While the idea of seeing a parent & child practice together sounds great it really serves neither of them. Technique that is effect for an adult ( bone breaking arm locks, strikes to the eyes etc.) are not appropriate for children. Likewise, watering down the technique for an adult to fit in with the children does not meet the realistic self-defense needs of an adult. We do offer a kids class right before the adult beginning class for parents who want to train after their childs class. |

Help For School Age TaeKwonDo Students
Red River
Traditional Tae Kwon Do has formed a new partnership with Moorhead Healthy
Community Initiative (MHCI) to help youth get involved in positive asset
building activities after school, such as Tae Kwon Do. The mission of MHCI
is to help mobilize the community to provide assets for all Moorhead youth
through free after school programs and scholarships to cover the cost of
fee based programs. To qualify for the scholarships, youth must live in
and/or attend Moorhead School District. Youth must be in 1st through 12th
grade. Scholarships may be used to cover registration fees, supplies (such
as uniforms) or equipment. MHCI would like to help families eliminate barriers
to participation by helping to cover these costs. If you need more information
or would like an application call Sonia at MHCI at 299-5437.
