KumDo is the Korean sword art, similar to what many are familiar with as Japanese Kendo. Our advanced students, kids and adults practice with bamboo swords and learn to spar with full protective armor.
Our KumDo style, Hankuk Chungtong Kumdo, is originally from Japanese/Okinawa Kendo, but modified to the Korean style later.
The head of the South Korean based International KumBub KumDo Federation, Master Jung, has trained & certified Master Jim Grimestad as a 3rd Dan Black Belt in a test conducted in Seoul, South Korea.
Master Jung is a world reknown expert of Kumbub, the practice with a sharp, lsteel blade. Kumbub is the art of sword which is composed of patterns,
straw bundle cutting and arranged step sparring.
